I preached at Woodhill Baptist Church in Colwyn Bay, North Wales this morning. I did a Midrashic exposition of John 5. There was a good response from the people including a lady who has a heart for Israel and the Jewish origins of the scriptures.
Last night the Lord spoke to me as I was studying Paul's letter to Philemon. As you may know this letter was written because Onesimus was a servant of Philemon and had run off with some money but when he came under the minstry of Paul, Onesimus repented and gave his life to the Lord. Paul in the letter asks Philemon to take Onesimus back and in doing so Paul said would refresh his heart (v20) in Christ. Acts of forgiveness can refresh your heart, the person you are forgiving and those who are observing in Christ. The act of forgiveness is a sure Christ-like quality and brings peace and a deeper understanding of who Jesus is.
